I know it's hard to get out into public places but it should be at least
a little easier to post in a group as you are posting from your comfort
zone.

I hope some of you will come back soon and let us know how your are
doing. I worry when I don't see anyone posting. :-(

Hello (((Fred)))

It's great to hear that you are having less trouble getting out in
public and are feeling betther. Sounds like that monster (agoraphobia)
is trying to leave your body! This is a very good thing! I'm so happy
for you! Thanks for the hugs back. :-)

Well, not much to say really. I've been dealing w/ Agoraphobia for about
5-6 yrs. now. I'm not currently taking anything, as I'm a bit frustrated
w/ the doctors in my area. Anyways, I just hang out around the house
(obviously)and take care of the place. I am able to go out, for like
food shopping and stuff, but the store is like 2 mins away. Blah, don't
want to be a bore. :)

Hello again Blay :-)

Your routine sounds very much like mine! I mostly stay home and do what
needs to be done here. I do get out for doctor and therapy appointments
and usually stop at the grocery store on the way home from one of my
appointments so I don't have to to out again for a while.

I am most happy right here at home. It's my comfort zone. I was
diagnosed agoraphobic in August or September of 2006 so it really hasn't
been that long for me even though it seems like a eternity since that
monster latched on to me and took over my body.

I am fighting with all I have to get my life back. I used to be a
normal working person. I actually loved my job! It broke my heart when
I had to resign as I could no longer get out the door to go to work. :-(
My dream is to be well enough to go back to work sometime in the future.

Thank goodness I just got an approval for SSDI so at least I will have
an income again starting in January of 2008. I have other health issues
as well as agoraphobia but the most frustrating one to deal with is the
agoraphobia as I have no idea why it latched on to ME?

Ok guess this book is long enough for this time. Sorry didn't mean to
go on and on...

Take care,
Lori

You might try going to the moderated anxiety group. There are more
people there. This group seems to be a bit dead. It is a little
safer to post there since there is a good moderator and keeps
aggressive people and junk posts off the site.
